*It is alway my intent to be 100% transparent. Before writing this article, I reached out to each company to let them know I planned to review their products. All of the products I reviewed were gifted to me by the companies.

New products labeled as “healthy” and “natural” show up on grocery shelves each week. It’s difficult to know what to trust and who’s products are legit. So I put together this list of my favorite new real food products to make life a bit easier. When you want a real food treat, check out one of these tasty options.

Think.Eat.Live. SunFlour
 sunflower seed flour
Far too many real food and paleo treats contain tree nuts. And since it is one of the most common allergens, this leaves out a great percentage of the population. Now SunFlour is changing that. It’s made from 100% sunflower seeds ground up and dried into flour. Such a genius idea and so easy to use too. Just sub SunFlour for any recipe calling for almond flour and it will come out beautifully! They also make pre-packed muffin, brownie and pancake mix. I tried out the brownies first and honestly they are the best gluten-free brownies of my life! To top it off, the company is devoted to educating about real nutrition and their processing facility is completely nut and gluten-free.

Luna & Larry’s Coconut Bliss Chocolate Dipped Ice Cream Bars

Coconut Ice CreamOkay, now this is the ice cream I’ve been waiting for. The dairy-free crowd has been limited to plain scoops of ice cream and perhaps a rare occurrence of a gluten-free cone. I jumped and let out a little yippee when I was handed one of these Chocolate Dipped Bars. Each packed in an individual serving. Trust me, you won’t be willing to share it. Luna & Larry’s products are dairy free, soy free, and made with fair trade chocolate and coffee. For all my fellow dairy free friends, this ice cream is it. Hooray to Luna & Larry for making these!

Lawless Jerky
grass fed beef jerky
Grass-fed meat? Check. Amazing flavor? Check. Lawless Jerky has some of the most unique jerky flavors, from Japanese Curry to Mango Habanero. They even have a Sweet Sriracha for the cult Sriracha following. All of the meat is sourced from farmers in New Zealand and the jerky is made and packed in Arizona.
I have to warn though, some of the flavors contain soy or wheat. Of their six flavors, Sweet Sriracha, Mango Habanero are Honey Chipotle are soy and wheat free. Read the ingredients carefully on the others.

LIVE Soda LIVE Soda
Kombucha has to be the greatest thing to happen in the last five years food-wise. I confess I’m addicted to the stuff. Live Soda is the only one I’ve seen though that’s competing with the soda market. Their Cola, Root Beer and Doctor flavors taste better than the real stuff. Only organic, and Fair Trade teas are used and of course each is full of digestion aiding probiotics for a healthier gut. Soda addictions are hard to break and this may be the best way to do it.

NotMilk
NotMilk
If you’ve ever made any type of nut milk you know the amount of labor that goes into each cup. I made almond milk twice and that was enough for me. Too many steps and too much time. Various pre-made milks are available but they are filled with additives and taste a bit off. NotMilk is offering a solution. The milk is made fresh every day and delivered to your door old school style in glass bottles. How cute is that?! A combination of almonds, walnuts, macadamias, cashews and dates was carefully crafted by the sisters that created this company.
Right now it’s only available in the New York City area.

Keep It Real Food Co
oatmeal alternative
Sometimes you just want a bowl of cereal or oatmeal. There’s no getting around that craving. Keep It Real has two products I love to fill this void. First their granola. Huge pieces of apple chips, coconut flakes, a mixture of organic seeds and almonds with cinnamon and vanilla. Too many granolas fall to tiny bits and skimp on the good stuff (apple chips!). Not this one. Then they have this Mighty Meal “oatmeal” that is a mix of coconut flakes, flax seed and chai seed. It’s a good quick breakfast and you can easily add more protein by throwing in an egg.

What did I miss??  What other new products have you found and love?
